I'm back!

Well hellooo! Its been awhile I know... actually nearly a month, which I didn't realize until I looked at the date of the last post... slap on the hand!!!

So what has happened in the last month... well church has been going really well, we have seen alot of people come back to multiple services, and many more saved! A couple of people are especially encouraging... one young guy named Mattias works as a Taxi driver, and has come nearly every service, even one time when he was supposed to be working - he parked the Taxi out the front and came in! Not sure his boss was too happy, but he came anyway! He really seems eager to be in church, and we are anticipating good things! Another guy named Ano - he lives down our street, and Dad made friends with him (suprise suprise... he pretty much knows the whole neighbourhood!). Dad did a Bible study one night with a few guys, and he came to that and then came to outreach the next day... he was keen as, running off the other side of the street to give people fliers... and he hadn't even been to church yet! That was pretty funny... he actually still hasn't come, but hopefully one day he will. We have learnt a few Tetun songs in church, which have made for quite a few laughs while practising! We have done Jesus Lover of my Soul and Open the Eyes of my Heart - the Tetun words are supposed to be sung in the same timing, but some of the words or phrases are alot longer so you have to sing them really fast... anyways, it has been interesting, but went well in the song services!

The kids have continued with home school of course... although they wish they hadn't! Hayden keeps saying that he is going back to Australia for year 12 ... doing year 11 subjects, especially maths, is quite a challenge! I try to help, but I don't remember most of it! Year 11 was a long time ago! But we are doing okay.

Well I may be getting a job - YAY! An insurance company here needs a secretary, but they are moving offices so I have to wait until they are settled before they get in contact with me about the job. So just waiting to see if it actually happens... fingers crossed!

We got our new car (I can't remember if I said earlier...) - a white Pajero. Its SO nice having a car that we dont have to climb awkwardly in and out of, and can actually fit more than just people in it... although we still have to do two trips to get all the stuff to church and back!

Rudi, one of the men in the church (he is the one Dad had been in contact with about starting a church here, and his brother is Freddy Duang - a pastor in Indonesia) has a building that is actually right next door to the one we are renting now. He is really keen for us to use it for church once things are a bit more settled. It needs some renovation work, but it is absolutly massive - can seat over 500 people! He is so excited about it too - he is putting in a platform and everything! So we pray that one day we will fill that building!

I went for a walk the other day with some girls that have come to church a couple of times - Betty and Igeda. They speak English fairly well, and came over one morning to "play" with us kids - since the others were doing school, I went on a walk with them. We walked a VERY long way - at least 5 kms to where we stopped and had a coconut - and then back the same distance! I was very tired after that - but it was fun, and I got to see a bit more into the lives of the Timorese people from talking to these girls. They love practising their English with me, and we decided next time it would be Tetun practise! Since they speak English much better than I speak Tetun, that should be interesting!! :)

Well I have run out of subjects... anything anyone wants to know?? Haha

Bye for now! :)
